I have a wand but i dont know how see if my wand works also where can i get a spell book.
Merry Meet. A wand is an extension of your energy. A wand is as powerful as you are. This means that the wand gets its power from you. To see how and if your wand works, bring up your energy and visualize it emerging out of your body and into the wand. You will be able to understand that the wand is as strong as you are! To keep the energy flowing, you have to cleanse the wand periodically. You may do this by using herbs to remove any negativity. You can also use smoke or incense to cleanse the wand. The more you use it, the more powerful your wand will be. Regarding spell books, there are many ways to get them. Browse through a used book store for “magick” or “wicca” spell books. There are many spell books on the internet. To clarify:
The wand has no power of it’s own. No ritual tool does. The tools used in ritual and spellwork are merely that: tools. They can be used to get you into the frame of mind necessary for casting, but the energy comes from you. You can use the wand to direct the energies, but a finger works just as well. The power lies in you.
As to cleansing: One shouldn’t need to cleanse ritual tools but once, and that is immediately (or at least shortly) prior to their consecration. After that, cleansing should only be necessary if someone other than the owner of said tool (any tool) handles it. At that point, cleansing is recommended, as you can never tell what energies the tool might have absorbed.
Spellbooks can be useful early on, but the most effective ones are the ones you write yourself. Use spellbooks only as a ‘jumping off’ point, until you can get the hand of crafting them yourself.
