A wonderful question indeed. Witchcraft is the original “religion” of the entire world. For millions of years, people have followed witchcraft which is the most natural way to understand and appreciate God and all of the wonders we have been blessed with on our planet Earth. When the first humans came into this world 200,000 years ago, they had no idea how big the Earth was. They knew their immediate surroundings and lived off the land, taking care of preserve the bounty around them.
They were nomads, moving from one place to another in search of food and shelter. Until about 2000 years ago, witchcraft was the main path to spirituality as people were very respectful of the beauty and power of Nature. They knew that the trees, mountains, land and other Earthly phenomena were all gifts from God and that they need to take care of them. Even today we are aware that all things “natural” are good for us.
Around the beginning of this millennium, some people decided to take control over God’s creatures. They created new religions after many wars and decided that their new artificial religions were to be followed by all humans around the world. Using horrible tactics such as killing all who practiced the natural religions, they scared most of the population with stories of hell. If that wasn’t enough to scare people, they came up with another alternative called purgatory and an imaginary entity called the Devil!. In addition to that these new religions do not hesitate to kill humans for silly reasons such as being gay or for following the established and ancient nature based religions such as Wicca and Hinduism.
Thankfully, many of the older religions flourished despite the onslaught of these new religions. Wicca is the most popular witchcraft religion and it is one of the oldest of the natural religions. So think for yourself and learn all about the history of religions and you will get an idea of which religions uses the Devil and which does not. If you want to learn more about the beautiful religion of Wicca, get some books on it and enjoy the freedom of this powerful religion.
