In African Witchcraft, which is also called Voodoo (or the Great Spirit), dolls are made with nail clippings or hair of a person (usually with his or her consent) in order to heal or help them. In such rituals, the doll (or poppet as it is called) becomes an “extension” of that person. As we chant, we induce the spirits to work on this person accordingto our instructions. Its very important that we do not think negatively because that may hurt the person as well as result in hurting us three fold. So if you have any misgivings about someone leaving you, then you have to meditate and get rid of all the negativity and sorrow. Then you have to create a spell full of positive intentions such as Return my lover to me Spell as follows: On a new moon day, after midnight, Get a red candle preferably in the shape of a man and anoint it with sacred oil. Carve his name on the candle and also create a hollow portion at the foot of the candle where you can put his nail clippings or hair or a note with his handwriting. Close it with some of the melted wax. Light the candle and meditate by reading a spirtual book for some time. Visualize him returning and the two of you enjoying life. Repeat this everyday for about 15 minutes. Snuff out the candle at the end of the ritual. When the candle has burned out completely, remove the melted wax and bury it in the backyard.
