What do the phases of the moon look like?

I WAS HOPING YOU COULD TELL ME ABOUT THE DIFFERENT MOON PHASES AND HOW THEY LOOK WHEN EVER YOU HAVE THE TIME.

The most important phases of the moon are the new moon, the first quarter, the full moon and the last quarter. Some people believe these correspond to the different personas of the Lady.

The new moon is the virtually impossible to see. It is the dark of the moon. It is associated with the time of birth and renewal.

The waxing moon refers to the moon as it is becoming more full. The first quarter is a half circle as the moon grows to full. The full moon is the moon as most people think about it.

The full moon is associated with power and strength and sometimes the goddess Diana.

The waning moon refers to the moon as it is disappearing from the sky.

Here is a website that includes pictures of the various phases of the moon: http://www.calculatorcat.com/moon_phases/moon_phases.phtml  The website will also halp you to see when the moon will be at its various stages.

You may also hear people refer to the first crescent, last crescent and the gibbous moon. The crescent moons refer to the time when only an eighth of the moon’s surface is visible and the gibbous moon refers to the time when you can see three-quarters of a circle in the sky.
