What you should know about activating magic wands

Magick wands have been used for many millenniums in the past. They were mainly used to channel energy for spells and other rituals. Recent movies such as the “Harry Potter” series have energized the general population because of the mistaken belief that a person can change the shape or form of a person or animal using the wand. Since the beginning of time, wands have been used as a medium of Air which acts as a transmitter and a messenger for the Universe. Although we can smell a perfume or smoke which has permeated the Air, it is generally assumed to be invisible since we cannot “see” it with our naked eye. However, the power of air is evident in the crushing devastations of a tornado or the destructive winds of a tropical hurricane. Although burning anything summons the power of Fire, the items that are burnt may seem to disappear into Air.
Air is also responsible for astral travel and is considered to be a masculine, yang energy. This energy may be used for word charms or chants which use the power of Air to enable them.
When activating magick wands, there are a few steps we need to follow:
1. First of all, you will need to ascertain that the wand is made of the finest materials and was crafted with powerful intention. The wood you use needs to be from sacred trees that have always been used for this purpose. Examples of wood that are excellent for making wands are Oak, Alder, Ash, Beech, Birch, Cedar,Cherry, Elm, Hazel, etc. The wood is selected according to their magickal properties such as whether the wood has feminine energy or masculine energy, associations with the five elements, magickal knowledge, enchantment, power, creativity, wisdom, inspiration, etc.

2. As explained, each type of wood has its own properties. To make a wand, one cannot just cut off a piece of wood from this tree. The best wands are made from tree limbs that have been discarded by the tree itself. After leaving a libation for the tree, you can make your own wand.

3. Whether you make a wand for yourself of get one from a reputed store, it is important to activate it the proper way. For the wand consecration ritual, you will need the following items: white candle, some water in a bowl, incense and a pentacle.
a. Cleanse the area, invite the elements and cast your circle.
b. When everything is ready, hold the wand in your dominant hand and say “This wand, the one I have chosen, will assist me in my work”.
c. Strongly visualize cleansing the wand of all negative energies from previous owners if any.
d. When you feel the negativity gone, strongly visualize a white light in your body which moves to the wand. Feel the positive energies entering the wand.
e. Hold the wand towards the North and say “May the powers of the Earth cleanse and fill the wand I have chosen for my goal”. “Touch it to the pentacle, saying: ” In the names of the Goddess and God I bless and make sacred this wand, tool of my craft. I charge this wand by the element of Earth.”

f. Hold the wand pointing towards the East and say” May the powers of the Air cleanse and fill the wand I have chosen for my work”. While you pass the wand through the smoke of the incense, say “In the names of the Goddess and God, I bless and make sacred this wand, tool of my craft. I charge this wand by the element Air”.

g. Hold the wand pointing to the South and say” May the powers of Fire cleanse and fill the wand I have chosen”. Pass the wand (quickly) through the flame over the candle and say: “In the names of Goddess and God, I bless and make sacred this wand, tool of my craft. I charge this wand by the element Fire.

h. Hold the wand pointing to the West and say “May the powers of Water cleanse and fill the wand I have chosen for my magick. Sprinkle the wand with a few drops of water and say: “In the names of Goddess and God, I bless and make sacred this wand, tool of my craft. I charge this wand by the element Water.

4. Then say: “This tool is now ready, being consecrated and charged to assist me in my work. So mote it be.”

5. Perform other rituals if you wish, then close the circle.

6. Your wand is now ready to be put to work.
