Which is better: a witch or a Wiccan?

I have several questions for you. First of all, I am a Christian. Is it ok that I become a good and pure witch or a good and pure Wican? If so, how do I become one? I have always had a semi-interest in becoming a good witch or wican. I am a little apprehensive about this because i never done this sort of thing before, and i want someone to help me get into it. I am eighteen years old and i am still young. So, i was wondering if you could help me. it would be great if you do. can witches really fly on brooms, and if so, how do they do it? Do spells really work? i am sorry about my overall curiosity. i just want to know if it’s possible that i could become a witch or wican. And i have one final question: which is better: a witch or a Wican? Thank you for listening and i hope to hear from you soon.

Merry Meet Seeker, I am glad that you are contemplating the pros and cons of Witchcraft and whether it can go peacefully along with other religions. I will answer each question separately. 1. Is it okay to become a pure witch or wiccan practitioner even if I am christian? You can be a witch and practice Christianity. However, since Christianity is a religion and Wicca is also a religion, you cannot be a Wiccan as well as a Christian practitioner. If religion is important to you, you may have to choose one or the other since both are established, respected religions. However, many of us from different faiths such as Hinduism, Islam and Christianity can use our powers without calling ourselves wiccans or anything else. A witch is just a human being who is aware of her/his powers. Anyone can be a witch by practicing and learning about the powers we are born with. When we are born, we are true witches because we believe in being able to do whatever we want. We look upon nature with wonder. Unforunately, adults tell us that we have to give up our powers to another entity (called by different names in various religions and who is invisible since the beginning of time!) . So we lose the awareness of our inborn powers. When we start practicing witchcraft, we regain those powers with which we can create our future. 2. Can Witches really fly on brooms? I am not aware of any witch who can fly on brooms. These are just tales that were spun and spread around to make people think that witches did strange things. Powerful people with extreme religious views tried to stifle natural magickal human abilities by creating false propaganda to scare the common folk. Unfortunately, this is how humanity has always alienated others and regained control of the masses. 3. Which is better: Witch or wiccan? As I have mentioned, anyone can become a witch while following another religion. However, Wicca is a religion. If you join Wicca, you may have to give up Christianity. It is unusual for any person to follow two religions. However, if you wish to use your powers and retain your interest in Christianity, then choose to become a witch. To be a witch, you have to change nothing. You can do spells on your own and without mentioning it to anyone. Get some books on Witchcraft and start practicing the meditations, the spells and the rituals which will program your mind and spirit to see the magick in the Universe and how to capture its essence without relying on any other individual to help you. Hope this helps answer all your questions. Brightest Blessings. Rose.

Hello, for the past 30 yrs I have been a christian . In 2009 I transversed into a Pagan/Witch. I am really enjoying the new beliefs and ways of the pagan lifestyle. I actually feel at peace for once. I currently channel my spirit guides, oracle readings, use a pendalum, study and go over spells that I curretnly have available to me. Next month I will be Reiki Attuned. I want to take this time to say Thank You for the useful i nformation that you bring forth. It is hughly useful and greatly recommended to anyone who is interest in the craft/ pagan lifestyle.

Actually, Christianity and witchcraft/Wiccan are no longer mutually exclusive. There are many Trinitarian (aka Christian) Witches, now. I am not one. I am not comfortable with melding the things I’d been taught as a Christian child and teen with what I now know as a primordial animist (and Eclectic Ritualist — the term for those practitioners who have studied and embraced MANY religious paths and beliefs, melding them into a cohesive whole). That’s my personal choice and, I admit, I know little about how Christian Witches make it work, for them. But, they seem quite happy and effective. :) As for “wiccan” vs. “witch”? All Wiccans are witches, but not all witches follow Wicca. And, honestly, there is no “good and pure” magick or “evil and black” magick. There is only intent. It’s all in how you use it, and… more importantly… WHY you use it. This is an old, old thread. But knowledge and advice are often timeless, so I hope it helps someone else, along the line.
